Welcome Christopher Charles as the New Chief Executive Officer of Building Heroes

We are delighted to announce that Christopher Charles has joined Building Heroes as our new Chief Executive.

Christopher, or Chris as he prefers, brings with him an impressive track record in secondary education and executive leadership, making him an ideal fit to steer our charity towards new heights as we celebrate our 10th anniversary.

A Proven Leader in Education

Chris’s career in secondary education is marked by a series of notable successes. He has led various schools to become high-performing institutions, demonstrating his ability to inspire and manage effectively. His tenure in senior executive roles within a Multi Academy Trust further highlights his dedication. As Deputy CEO, he was instrumental in leading the secondary sector to significant achievements, demonstrating his strategic vision and leadership prowess.

A Wealth of Experience and Passion

With extensive experience in leadership and human resources, Chris has devoted his career to the vocation of helping others. His transition to Building Heroes is a seamless one, given his deep understanding of the dynamics and constructs of education and training. Chris's enthusiasm for our charity's mission is palpable, and his energy and passion for helping former Armed Services personnel, veterans, reserves and military family members to develop new skills will undoubtedly drive our initiatives forward.

At Building Heroes, we focus on supporting former military personnel to gain confidence and skills for a successful career in construction. Chris’s dedication to the core purpose of our charity aligns perfectly with our goals. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our founder, Brendan Williams, for his visionary leadership and relentless efforts. Brendan, along with the Building Heroes Team and key partners, has laid a robust foundation for our success.

Chris and Brendan will work closely together, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of our mission. Their combined expertise will be pivotal as Building Heroes Education Foundation and Property Services align to train and provide employment opportunities for our service leavers and the wider Armed Forces community, who have so much to offer.
