Ten Stories: Building Heroes Team Day: A Celebration of Unity and Values
The Building Heroes family took a momentous step towards strengthening our bonds and reaffirming our mission
In recognition of our tenth anniversary, we have been sharing a monthly story to highlight the impact of Building Heroes and this month we want to talk about the Building Heroes away day.
Back in August, while the summer sun marked a pause between our learning cohorts, the Building Heroes family took a momentous step towards strengthening our bonds and reaffirming our mission. Our nationwide team of Academy Leaders along with all the Charity support staff convened for an invigorating team-building day at the prestigious RAF Museum in the Midlands.
The day was thoughtfully centred around our core values, reflecting those of our Armed Forces community, our dedicated industry partners, and our very own organisational ethos. Such opportunities to gather, brain storm and workshop together are crucial as they help us align our goals, understand our roles, and deeply appreciate the collective journey we and the while charity is on.
Of course, a Building Heroes gathering would not be complete without its share of fun! Between the serious discussions and value alignments, laughter and joy were abundant, showcasing the warm and fun-loving spirit of our team. Our people truly enjoy each other’s company, mirroring the passion and dedication they extend to our fantastic cohorts of Armed Forces learners across the country.
A poignant moment of the day was our Team members award ceremony. With the generous support of our sponsoring partners, we recognised the outstanding contributions of our team members. These awards were not just tokens of appreciation but a testament to the hard work and dedication that our staff pours into our mission every day.
As we rounded out the day, we felt more connected and energised, ready to embark on another academic year. This year is particularly special as it marks the 10th anniversary of Building Heroes and welcomes our new Chief Executive, Chris Charles, to the Building Heroes family. As we celebrate a decade of significant impact, we are reminded of the journey we’ve embarked on and the future we are so eagerly shaping together.
Looking forward, we are excited to continue our work, celebrate our milestones, and nurture the future of those who have served. Here’s to more learning, growing, and building—as a team, and as a working family for our heroes.
