Take on the Great North Run with Team Building Heroes
We are proud to be partnering with Military vs Cancer for the 2026 Great North Run, offering a limited number of places for members of the Building Heroes community to take part in one of the UK’s most iconic running events.
This is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, be part of a supportive team, and raise funds for two charities making a real difference within the Armed Forces community.
We have up to 10 places available, open to:
- Building Heroes learners and alumni
- Members of the Armed Forces community
- Employer partners and sponsors
- Supporters of Building Heroes
Why This Partnership Matters
Cancer affects so many lives, and the Armed Forces community is no exception.
Military vs Cancer provides vital practical and emotional support to serving personnel, veterans and their families who are facing cancer, ensuring no one goes through that journey alone.
By joining forces, this partnership brings together two charities supporting the Armed Forces community in different but equally important ways, offering participants the chance to contribute to both causes through a single, meaningful challenge.
Fundraising Commitment
Participants will be asked to commit to a £400 fundraising target.
Funds raised will be shared:
- 70% to Military vs Cancer
- 30% to Building Heroes
Every step taken will help support individuals and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges, while also enabling Building Heroes to continue delivering life-changing training and employment support.
